Rigging Design
Gavin Smith
Our designs for rigging systems and equipment have put us ahead of the competition. We appreciate the fine details of aesthetics, the structural integrity and the modular approach to the use of the rigging system, especially with creative development process and discovering the inherent qualities of not only the narrative and the performers but also the rigging and the system designs value.
Whether a creative project, production, or studio installation comes along for us to collaborate with or consult on, we take the very first few steps of the process gently, to breath or walk in the same shoes as the concept develops a set of language for us to diverge and introduce rigging concepts and systems, equipment and modifications.
A rigging design for an aerial studio usually takes longer than an event, this is largely due to nature of the studio installation, the ergonomics of the end design, need to be architecturally considered as well as engineered and laid out in chalk on the ground and imaginary lines in the air.
When it's a design for a stunt or aerial rigging concept, the same process applies, except the only permanent legacy left is the film, TV or live event experience that stays with the audience.
