Aerial Net
Gavin Smith
Description
Our Aerial Net is an apparatus constructed with using safe knotless net mesh. It is a flexible, strong, lightweight apparatus that the artist can explore new and dynamic creations. Rigging options include hammock or single point.
How it’s Made
We use an industrial synthetic fibre machine woven net mesh. The safety netting is tested to comply with all standards and codes of practice. The border or ridge rope is stitched around the edge to create an anchor point at every intersecting net mesh. This is our very own proprietary process and we are proud of the research and development efforts that went into the creation of aerial nets.
Uses
Aerial Artists will use the net as a solo or duo apparatus. It is an incredibly strong apparatus that can be used dynamically or statically and due to the inherent nature of the construction it augments its shape to create a wealth of movement narratives.
More Info
We use nylon or polypropylene knotless netting, mesh square size ranges from 50mm to 100mm and colours are available in red, green, blue, white and black or a combination of many colours. Modern net weaving machines now produce nets on the square, meaning less waste when cutting from the bale. We sew an edge our nets with a structural ridge rope and provide a proof load test certificate with every net upon request.
